The clutch and brake lines have been tucked behind the firewall to help avoid the 'clutter engine bay' look. In addition, the two braided lines are the lines to the fuel and oil pressure gauges. The passenger side footwell has two bulkhead fittings. One for the oil pressure sensor line and the other for the clutch line to the slave cylinder.
I used box board to create templates for the trunk side panels......
.....as well as the panel that covers the cockpit end of the third link.
This is the brake proportioning valve.
All of these shots show how I had to modify the valence in order to make it more easily removed. They way this is now set up, once the fenders are removed, the valence can now come off using just two pip pins. This will allow easy access to the oil cooler and radiator.
I fabricated a new air dam mount using the original bumper mounts. Eventually the height of the air dam will be adjustable.
I repositioned the fire bottle in the passenger footwell and fabricated a new fire suppression system. The line to the nozzle in the engine bay runs down through the footwell and will connect to a bulkhead fitting near the carbs. This also helps reduce the 'cluttered engine bay' look.
The last portion of the fuel lines were fabricated and put in place in the engine bay and the trunk.
I had to fab up some plates to reinforce the seat belt mounts, rear sway bar mounts and front suspension supports. Rob would weld them in place on 7/26
I again used the 'Futcher' technique and used box board for creating templates. These will cover large holes in the valence. Once in place they will house the brake ducts.
Rob came over on7/26 and did some final welding on a few projects (seat belts mounts, rear sway bar mounting plates, front suspension plates, fire system pull handle mount, etc.)
As we cut off the upper hood pin support plates, I created a new mounting system.
And last but not least, the windscreen had to be mounted.
And off she went to the body shop on 8/2.
