I removed the car from the truck and got her on the ground this morning.  I had to dry it off with the propane heater as it was very wet from being rained on all night.

I went over to the Cleveland area today so I could  remove and pickup the suspension from Peter Baumgartner's car.  This is the hardware that we'll put on our car.

3
Today the car went over to Phil's to start the rebuild process.

4
Today we started working on the car by hanging the rear suspension as well as some chassis cleanup.

Date:  02/03/2007

5
Phil and I finished attaching the new rear suspension pieces today.

Date:  02/10/2007

Rob and I mounted the front suspension pieces today.  It took a bit of hacking and cutting on the chassis to get the turrets in place but things lined up nicely.  Now that the suspension is in place, we can work around it and fabricate the radiator, sway bar and brake ducts mounts.

Since the Runoffs were over, it was now time for me to start working on my car again.  Step one was to finish the trunk area and install the fuel cell, pumps, filter and associated lines.

In preparation for the "Big Build" next weekend, Rich Sheldon came down from Reed City and helped out with getting the footwell panels prepped.  While he was cutting and hacking, I cut the fuel line to the correct length, put the proper fitting on the end and  installed the firewall bulkhead for the fuel line.  I also go the surge tank for the cooling system mounted on the firewall.

Today I designed, built and installed the brake and clutch lines from the master cylinders to the firewall bulkheads.  In an effort to tidy up the engine bay, I decided to make all three brake and clutch lines pass behind the dash.  On the backside of the firewall, I've connected the rest of the lines to the bulkhead fittings.  I also built and installed the oil pressure sensor line that will connect from the motor to the oil pressure gauge.
