2006 Prep

I removed some of the front end to expose the suspension. Date: 10/09/2005
Today we picked up the new tow vehicle. Date: 11/20/2005
Rob and I worked on the rear end. Date: 01/21/2006
Today we installed the gooseneck hitch and picked up the new trailer. Date: 02/03/2006
Rob, Jon, Phil and I were at Phil's place fabricating some new rear suspension pieces. What fun! Date: 02/12/2006
A trip back to Phil's to finish fabricating the pieces for the rear end. Date: 02/14/2006
Phil's welds the extensions on the axle housing. Date: 02/19/2006
I start to clean up the chassis for the panhard rod bracketing. Also, Phil had welded the cage (its a work of art) for the fuel cell. I was drilling the holes in it so the cell could be bolted in. Date: 02/21/2006
Rob comes over and we prep the trunk for the mounting of the panhard rod bracket. He also works on some finishing touches on the axle housing. Date: 03/05/2006

Rob comes over and weld the bracket into the trunk floor. Date: 03/12/2006
I continue prepping the trunk for a coat of paint. Date: 03/13/2006
After the pieces get sandblasted and powder coated, Melinda and I installed them in the chassis. Date: 03/19/2006
Next it is time to shape, sand and hang the fenders. Date: 03/22/2006
Next it is time to start working on the trailer storage racks. Date: 04/08/2006
These are pictures of the two awards I received this year. The first is the WMR Outstanding Member Award for 2005. The second came from the SCCA national office. It was for third place in website design. Date: 04/10/2006
Today we installed one of the racks we created. We also mounted the new tool cabinets. Date: 04/10/2006
Rob came over and he designed the mounts for the air dam. Date: 06/15/2006
And I finished the project. Date: 06/16/2006
Of course with an air dam altering the airflow, one needs brake ducts. Also, I am reinforcing the hood so it doesn't fold up like a cheap suit when I am at speed. Date: 06/18/2006
Today we went over to Duane's and did some work on the car. After the bumpy IRP race, I wanted to inspect the under carriage to make sure there wasn't any thing loose or broken under there. Also we worked on the clutch line (replacing the quick connect fitting and installing a remote bleed line). Date: 07/23/2006
Today we ground down the axle bracket that had been rubbing on the right rear tire (before and after). Date: 08/05/2006
Duane, Rob (that's Dr. Fob with the stethoscope) and I did some diagnostics on the motor and found out its OK except for a blown head gasket. Date: 08/19/2006
Duane and I started rebuilding the spare motor tonight. Date: 08/19/2006	1
Phil welded the broken tire rack back together. Date: 09/23/2006
I anchored the rebuilt broken tire racks back into the trailer. Date: 09/25/2006
Today I built the work bench in the trailer. Date: 09/27/2006
