A broken control arm caused some really bad noises but should be easy to replace.

I installed the new carbs today.  I had to create a new throttle cable mount as the old one did not mate properly with the new carbs.

I installed the control arms with the new rod ends today.  I found these control arms in a box of spare parts that came with the car.

The effects of the on track impact from the Grattan race exhibited in the bent axle housing (notice the space along the axle flange/hub interface in the right picture and the difference of the amount of stud sticking past the axle in the left image).

This is what put us out at M-O.  Tab A slipped out of Slot B so the front carb wasn't operating.

At last we were working on the motor again.  Today we put in the last piston and also set the cam timing.

Although we wanted to get the motor in the chassis today, a clutch alignment issue did not allow that to happen.  We could not use the old clutch disc as it was thiiiiis close to failing in a major way.  We did get the starter repositioned (it was rubbing against the motor), the new ignition system installed and repaired a front shock mount.

Today I installed the air bleed line and surge tank for the cooling system.

Today I installed the repaired radiator and filled the cooling system.  Note the new line (from the hose barb fitting in the left image) that connects the radiator to the surge tank.  This line (along with the bleed line) will allow the cooling system to push the air out of the system and not create air pockets that over heat the motor.

This is what the tire looked like after I got home....cool huh?  Also, I put the finishing touches on my in-car camera mount today.
